29 Mar 2018 | UMLand Seri Austin @ Johor

The groundbreaking ceremony of SJK (C) Kuek Ho Yao at UMLand Seri Austin was yet another step towards fulfilling our commitment towards more local educational opportunities whilst building a world-class community. Officiated by MCA president, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and his deputy, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and other MCA leaders, the school is named after the late Tan Sri Kuek Ho Yao, serving as a tribute to the great philanthropist who played a vital role in the development of Chinese community in Johor Bahru. The school board of governors chairman, Datuk Teo Ah Khiang said the school, costing RM6million, would be developed on a 2.43ha site in Seri Austin that is built to cater to the ever increasing number of student enrolment in Johor. It is expected to accept at least 2,000 students upon its completion in two years time.
